Our recent Shows:Renee, audience member writes: "Julia! You and Ken put on a wonderful performance.( at the Middletown Library) I loved your diverse music choices and use of many instruments. You are both so talented. I also loved that you threw in some original work. You guys are a class act.
Janet writes: Ken and Julia presented a very enjoyable concert at the library of Middletown NJ. The program included songs by the Beatles and the Everly Brothers among others. There was a little blues, a show tune, some classical piano pieces played by Julia and an original song by Ken, "Standing Over There". It was nice to hear the Beatles' songs with harmony, the simple accompaniment of guitar and tambourine and an interesting instrument, the bowed Psaltery, played by Julia Muench. Julia commented that almost all the songs were love songs. Having a female and male singer who happened to be married to each other added to the intimacy of the performance. Ken's song was a nice surprise. It is a song not easily categorized in terms of genre. It had an eerie quality which was enhanced by the bowed Psaltery. All and all it was a nicely balanced program and we would hope to see more of Ken and Julia in the future. |
